# 5 Symptoms of a Mini-Stroke in Older Adults That Should Never Be Ignored

A transient ischemic attack (TIA), often called a mini-stroke, happens when blood flow to part of the brain is temporarily interrupted. Its symptoms may disappear within minutes or hours, but that does not make the event harmless.
